About Me
Amy Juschka is an award-winning writer, editor and communications specialist.
She is currently living in Johannesburg, South Africa, where she is working as a communications specialist for Madulammoho Housing Association, a social housing institution in the inner city neighbourhood of Hillbrow.
Before relocating to South Africa, Amy was the managing editor of Megaphone Magazine, an award-winning non-profit magazine sold on the streets of Vancouver by homeless and low-income people.
Amy's work has appeared in The Tyee, The Vancouver Sun, Journalism Ethics and Briarpatch Magazine.
In 2009 Amy was the recipient of the BC & Yukon Community Newspaper Award and the Rafe Mair Award for Excellence in Journalism. She was also nominated for the International Network of Street Papers' Best Feature Story Award for her expose on Vancouver's worst slumlords.
In May of 2009, Amy graduated with a Master of Journalism degree from the University of British Columbia.
